FIRTINA RIVER - RIZE / TURKEY :
The River Firtina River is
interesting not only for the arched bridges spanning it and the
tea plantations lining the banks, but also for the traditional
costumes of the local people.
Formed by a number of streams on the Black Sea side of Kackar
Mountains, the Firtina runs 57 km through lush countryside,
eventually reaching the Black Sea about 2 km west of Ardesen,
Rize.
The arched stone bridges crossing the water add to the beauty of
the Firtina, which is recommended for river sports along the
following course.
Course
The town of Camlihemsin is
22 km south of the Rize-Ardesen road. The course begins around 1
km south of Camlihemsin. Paddlers should be cautious of boulders
at 5 km, and dangerous passages at 7 km, 8 km and 9 km, and the
attractive Duygulu Falls are on the western slope at 12 km. The
course finishes at any convenient point before the Firtina
reaches the Black Sea.
The 23km long course is very rocky, rating a hardship degree of
3-4-5 in places, depending on the speed of the water. Extra
caution is required during heavy rains. The Firtina is
recommended for river sports all year round.

FOURTH
RACE COURSE : It starts CAMLIHEMSIN city. Since
there is no passage from Waterfall DUYGULU , The boats are
carried by land and sportsmen go to the river again. It is
given break for food and tea at Ottoman Trout
establishment.
When we
arrive our base, It is given a break again. Next, after
game of row and break at village SESLIKAYA, it is
completed at ELMALI district.
THIRD RACECOURSE :
It starts at village DUYGULU. After 30 mşnutes , it is
given a break at OTTOMAN TROUT base. |
After
10 minutes , it is got on the boats and carried on. After it is
played game of row at mine and beach, it is given a break for
tea at our base.Than , it is got on the boats again and it is
completed the racecourse at ELMALI district.
SECOND
RACE COURSE: It starts at our base, After playing game of
row at village SESLIKAYA, the rafting makers get on the boats
and arrive ELMALI district. After taking a break for swimming
there,it is completed the race course.
AMATEUR
RACE COURSE : It is completely for people inexperinced
and 8-16 years old.The level of difficulty is 1. It starts at
our base. It is complated 6 or 9 KM after according to
raftmaker's desire.
